Dunshaughlin sits on the old N3 road with the M3 running alongside it. Ratoath is to the east, towards the N2, and Dunboyne is to the south, close to the Dublin border. Between the three there is a tangle of commuter roads, newer estates and narrow back lanes, and these are the places nearest to our trucks.
Towing in Dunshaughlin
This is where we are based. A car that will not start on Main Street, in one of the estates or on the road out to Drumree is as local a job as we get. Tell us the street or the estate name, the reg, and where you would like the car to go. New to the village and unsure of the estate name? The closest school, church or shop does the job just as well.
Towing in Ratoath
Ratoath has grown a lot in recent years, and the roads in and out are busy at school times and in the commuting hours. Fairyhouse Racecourse is just outside the town, so race days bring heavy traffic onto the roads around it. If you stop on one of those roads, get out on the verge side and wait well in from the traffic. For a car in an estate or on a driveway, the estate name and the house number are all we need.
Towing in Dunboyne
Dunboyne is at the Dublin end of the M3. The M3 Parkway station and its park and ride car park are just outside the town, and a lot of cars sit there all day. If yours will not start when you come back to it in the evening, tell us which part of the car park it is in and which way it is facing. Cars from Dunboyne often go to garages and dealers over the county line in Dublin, and the kilometres to that address are part of the figure.

Why a short tow costs less
Our price is a call-out from €150, then €2 a kilometre to the destination. When the car is in one of these three towns and is going to a local garage, the distance is small, so the call-out is most of the total. A car going from Ratoath to a dealer in north Dublin covers more ground, and the total rises with it. We tell you the figure on the call, and nothing moves until you agree.
What to have ready when you ring
- Who you are, plus the phone you will have on you
- The reg, the make and the model
- The street, estate or road, plus a landmark or an Eircode
- Where the car should go, and whether someone will be there to take the keys
- Anything unusual: a flat tyre, a locked steering wheel, an electric car, or a car in an underground car park
Jobs that are not breakdowns
Not every tow round here is an emergency. People ring to have a car that is not safe to drive taken to their garage, to shift a non-runner out of a driveway before a move, or to bring home a car they bought in Dublin. Those are booked ahead and priced exactly the same way. See vehicle transportation.
If it happens on the M3
On the motorway itself the rules are stricter: hard shoulder, hazard lights, and everybody behind the barrier before you ring. Our M3 breakdown guide goes through it step by step.
